For any diver or even anyone who has seen one too many Bond movies, rebreathers are the ultimate way to dive. Rebreathers are closed circuit systems that recycle a diver’s exhaled air and scrubs it of carbon dioxide before returning the remaining oxygen to the diver. This means you can spend longer underwater (up to three hours) but most importantly don’t exhale any air into the water – meaning you are truly one with your environment and have no bubbles to disturb your surroundings.

And now finally Poseidon have developed the first rebreather system for recreational divers, bringing this technology to divers everywhere. The Poseidon Discovery system 18 kilos fully gassed up, and only 8 kilos empty – making it lighter than normal open circuit scuba systems. It is fully automated with a dive computer managing the air supply and scrubbing process removing the need for long prep times and tedious procedures – leaving the diver to enjoy the experience fully. The Discovery comes in its own Pelican case and is only sold to divers certified on closed-circuit systems.
